Hypocrites in the Spotlight- Dr. Ben Carson

by Nomad

GOP Ben Carson Family Welfare Hypocrite

I admit that I cannot verify everything on this meme, but there are plenty of good links out there (and here) that confirm enough of his background to rate him as a first-class hypocrite.

That's not to say he is not an excellent doctor but as a public figure, he is way-way-way out of his depth. This is a man who with a straight face compared Obamacare to slavery. (That's right, the whipping and chaining institution that considered men with black skin to be little better than animals or a commodity to be exploited.)

Carson also equated homosexuality to pedophilia and bestiality. and declared white liberals to be “the most racist people there are”. (That was, no doubt, a crowd pleaser for his conservatives audiences.)

Writer Lionel Suggs, who like Carson was born to a single African American mother, observed:
“Isn't it funny how ignorance is the source of strength of so many?”
Dr. Carson is, if nothing else, proof that having an admirable talent does not make one an authority on all things. There are plenty of gifted people who remain fairly stupid about the world. I call it the "superstar" effect, meaning just because a singer can belt out a catchy tune doesn't mean he can do Shakespeare at the Globe.

There are a lot of highly opinionated people on the Far Right, almost all of them seem to be 100% sure of their opinions and ready- for some hefty speaking fees- to proclaim them for the ears of the world.  One site claims that according to his booking agent, Carson's speaking fee is  "over $40,000."

Of course, it should be added that Carson is not the only minority figure who, after personally benefiting from the "evil" big government social engineering, is now trying to close the doors of opportunity on the next generation. (Justice Clarence Thomas is another notable one.)

It is especially disappointing to see minorities, African Americans, gay and lesbian citizens, Hispanics and all women touting the benefits of the conservative cause. They should be voting en masse to replace the Far Right conservatives with sane politicians who actually represent their best interests.

As Suggs also said:
“I do not take advice or listen to the words of hypocrites or beings that are not self-realized. It's nothing personal. I am simply no fan of beings that try to sound wise, while trying to mask their imbecility.”
