by Nomad

English folk singer and fiddle player, Jackie Oates hails from Staffordshire. Since her debut in 2006, Oates has released 6 albums. According to her bio, she was a finalist in the BBC Radio 2 Young Folk Awards 2003 and has performed extensively at festivals and venues across the country and beyond.

Here she is with James Dumbleton and Mike Cosgrave. singing the title track from her album, Hyperboreans. The song was written by a good friend of Oates, Alasdair Roberts.

This second selection, Dream Angus is from Oates' album Lullabies, featured below. This song is actually a traditional Scottish lullaby.

Finally, this folk ballad/lullaby called Lavender's Blue.

If you enjoyed that, here' s Oates' 2013 album, Lullabies.

Have a lovely Sunday, my friends.
