No doubt about it: for anybody following US politics, this has been an exhausting and demoralizing week. We have had front row seats to the dismantling of institutions that we once believed were the safeguards to the American Republic.
And next week is not likely to be any better.
As Dan Rather tweeted on Friday:
The challenge of our times is to stay engaged and awake to all the outrage while not being overwhelmed to the point of paralysis and inaction. This weekend I hope to spend time with family, read a book, listen to music while not losing sight of the journey ahead. So, we deserve a short break to catch our breaths. Behold, the Sanity Sunday musical break. I called this Chill Mix No.2 with
Nadia Reid and Julia Jacklin as new discoveries.
The playlist consists of:
- Julia Jacklin - Pool Party
- Haley Heynderickx - Drinking Song
- Julia Jacklin - Don't Let The Kids Win
- Holly Throsby - Aeroplane
- Jake Xerxes Fussell - Furniture Man
- Nadia Reid - Just To Feel Alive
- The National - Green Gloves
- Nadia Reid - Preservation
- Harrison Lemke - Ghost House
- My Terrible Friend - When I Decide
- Corey Laitman - Sea Song
- Marlon Williams - Beautiful Dress
- Julia Jacklin - You Were Right
- Danny Schmidt - This Too Shall Pass
Have a super Sunday, nomads.
